A Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you ("Donor") to appoint another person ("Attorney") to act on your behalf and in your name on matters specified in the Power of Attorney.

When buying or selling an HDB flat, certain matters must be attended to at different stages of the process. For example, you may be required to sign various documents, such as:-

arrow1Option to Purchase
arrow1Agreement for Lease
arrow1Deed of Assignment
arrow1Lease-in-Escrow
arrow1Mortgage-in-Escrow.

You will require a Power of Attorney if you are unable to attend personally to these matters. It is advisable to consult a solicitor in Singapore to prepare the Power of Attorney.
